Program Overview
Project Recovery is for children and youth who have witnessed or experienced trauma. This encompasses issues such as family violence, substance abuse, grief and loss, and bullying.
Whether children have experienced violence in the home, changes in family dynamics through death or separation, the impact of substance abuse, or challenging dynamics at school, Project Recovery offers them a safe place to explore and celebrate the fact that they are one-of-a-kind. While the foundation is built on safety planning, Project Recovery gives children and youth a voice. Lessons are centered on emotional intelligence, self-worth, and family dynamics. Each participant completes a safety plan during the sessions.
Sessions are generally held for eight weeks, meeting once a week for two hours. Several times each year we also host one-week camps.
It’s a New Year!
This program focuses on developing self-esteem and goal setting and strives to equip youth as they begin a new school year and/or semester. It’s a New Year sessions are generally offered in August/September and January/February, but can be requested at any time of the school year.
