Life Skills Mentor
Life Skills Mentorship Volunteer is responsible to develop and facilitate activities for the women and/or children using Harbour House and Hestia services. Activities are to be focused on life skills that will be needed as these women and children begin their lives anew post domestic and sexual violence. Activities could include things like:
- Resume Skills with how to interview
- Creating a grocery list and basic cooking skills
- How to budget
- How to be a good renter

Requirements
- Over age 18
- YWCA Lethbridge Volunteer Enrollment Form
- Satisfactory Volunteer Interview & Reference Checks
- Vulnerable Persons Check (Criminal History)
- Child & Youth Intervention Module Check
- YWCA volunteer orientation
- Harbour House/Hestia Homes orientation & training
Time Commitment
- 2-5 hours per week (including prep time that could be completed at home plus a 1-hour session)
- Minimum 3 month commitment
- Sessions must be held at a consistent time for the duration of each 3-month period
