LOCAL MEN AND WOMEN WALK A MILE IN HER SHOES TO STOP DOMESTIC AND SEXUAL VIOLENCE

Lethbridge, AB – Today at 11:50 AM, caring men and women from in and around Lethbridge will step into a pair of heels and walk around Galt Gardens to raise money to help combat domestic and sexual violence in and around Lethbridge.

YWCA WALK A MILE IN HER SHOES® Presented by Shoppers Drug Mart is a signature YWCA event and one of YWCA Lethbridge & District’s biggest fundraisers. Although domestic and sexual violence are serious matters, this fun and light-hearted event asks registered participants to take a stand by stepping into a pair of heels and walking a mile around Galt Gardens.

WALK A MILE IN HER SHOES® is a signature YWCA event, and 2018 marks the 8th year we’ve held it here in Lethbridge. All money raised will benefit YWCA Lethbridge programs that combat domestic and sexual violence, including YWCA Harbour House, our women’s emergency shelter, and YWCA Amethyst Project, which provides immediate crisis counselling and an important Third Option to support victims of sexual violence, allowing people to take care of themselves before they face police and the courts.
